The demand for qualified real estate professionals continues to increase as the real estate industry is being transformed by economic, social, regulatory, and demographic factors in Chicago, across the nation, and around the world. Achieving a high level of competence in real estate requires an understanding of several disciplines and their interactions. The DePaul MSRE responds to the demands in the marketplace by building on our robust tradition of finance and real estate course offerings and incorporating classes across colleges and disciplines, including marketing, law, public policy, geography and economics. The primary goal of the program is to combine theoretical and pragmatic tools in a focused graduate program for real estate professionals. The program was designed as a part-time degree for working professionals, although it will be available for full-time students.
The program consists of 12 courses: 7 core courses and 5 electives for students who have completed satisfactory graduate or undergraduate business prerequisites in accounting and economics. The program may be completed part-time in 1 1/2 years or full time in one calendar year. Students who have not completed a business degree may need to take courses in accounting and/or economics before begining the program.
****Students with sufficient background may also enroll in the following Law School courses with permission of the Real Estate Center Director. These courses are taught on a semester basis.
