Short Biography
Fred Acker received his PhD from Washington University, St. Louis. He worked for a short while on Wall Street and then for the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae). For the last 30 years he has been the Managing Director of several private real estate investment firms and commercial mortgage lending funds, in both the US and Australia. He is currently a Visiting Clinical Professor of Finance and Real Estate at DePaul University and teaches courses in Real Estate Investment, Commercial Real Estate Negotiation, and a course in Securitization. He has taught seminars throughout Europe and Asia for Euromoney and the training company of the Financial Times.
